SSCM Platform – Funded by SECO (State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland) BSD is leading the development of the Sustainable Supply Chain Management Platform. The first stage included research, inventory, and rating of relevant international standards and practices. Inter-sectoral principles and elements of sustainable supply chain management strategies were also created. The platform will provide: Orientation on Standards, Know-how Transfer, Convergence Support, Tools for Corporate Embedding, and Supplier training and identification.
Sustainability for Small and Medium Enterprises: Ecuador - In partnership with Swisscontact and local Business Service Providers, BSD is developing and implementing a methodology for SMEs to integrate sustainability into their management systems. The program includes sensibilization and cont workshops, capacity building for locl consultants and SME managers, performance assesment in sustainability, creation of action plans, accompanied implementation and content for sustainability reports. A monitoring system of Pro-poor growth indicators has been created for the program.
Social Management Platform (SMS) - Establishment of the research and consulting platform Social Management Systems in co-operation with Z¸rcher Fachhochschule Wirtschaft (ZHW). SMS conducts research in the field of Corporate Social Management and supports companies in establishing and implementing socially responsible strategies (www.socialmanagement.ch).
Social Label Switzerland – BSD partnered with NSW (Network for Social Economy) for the elaboration of the Swiss Label for Corporate Social Responsibility, including validation of criteria framework, reporting tools, and realization of pilot audits.
Coop Switzerland – BSD developed methodology for global supply chain sustainability risk assessment, and elaborated supplier management selection manual and criteria.
AA1000S Brazil - In co-operation with ISEA (Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability), Instituto Ethos and FundaÁo Dom Cabral, BSD conducted the Brazilian contribution to AA1000S project in 2002 and translated the AA1000 standard into portuguese.
Petrobras Brazil – Creation and implementation of corporate-community engagement programs for the engineering and construction branch.
Petrobras Brazil – Development of evaluation methodology of CSR practices based on stakeholder engagement and implementation in 5 units; creation of Plans of Action towards sustainability.
Petrobras Bolivia – Conducted a gap-analysis between the company’s management systems, policies and practices in two Bolivian natural gas units, and the SA 8000 standard.
Samarco - Implementation of AA1000 management system and GRI indicators reporting platform.
Santander – Construction of business case for sustainability for directives and capacity building program for the implementation of GRI indicators; provided assurance statement of sustainability report.
Comgas – Evaluation of CSR management practices; construction and presentation of business case for directives; development of action plan towards sustainability.
Holcim – Capacity building and structuring of CSR committee; contextualization and implementation of global sustainability directives in Brazil.
Instituto Elektro – Development of scoping study against AA1000 standard; ISO 9000 implementation for social investment projects.
Elektro – Developed tools for supplier consultation on sustainability practices.
FLO Inspections – BSD professionals have conducted 50+ inspections for compliance with Fairtrade standards in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay and Bolivia.
SASA Project – BSD’s Beat Gr¸ninger acted as lead auditor in the SASA pilot audit project conducted in Brazil. To enable stakeholder inclusion in the auditing process as well as in the evaluation of the results, internet discussions and meetings were held, during and after the audit.
Safeway, UK – Conducted social audits for Brazilian suppliers following the criteria of the ETI Base Code.
UniEthos (Instituto Ethos, Brazil) – BSD is the social norms and sustainability management systems content providing partner for UniEthos and the Industrial Federation of So Paulo.
SESI (Social Service of the Industry of the State of Santa Catarina) – Conducted research on CSR standards, policies and norms in Brasil, China, United States ,Slovakia and Italy.
